Mary E. Weems is a poet, Playwright, and scholar of urban education. Recent books include Public Education and the Imagination Intellect: I Speak from the Wound in My Mouth, and a book of poems An Unmistakable Shade of Red and the Obama Chronicles. Mary is a former Poet Laureate of Cleveland Heights, and her new play “Truth Out,” was part of the 2011 FusionFest at the Cleveland Playhouse.
